About Our Church & Community

First Church of Christ, Scientist, St. Catharines, is a branch of The First Church of Christ, Scientist which is located in Boston, Massachusetts.  You will find branch churches and students of Christian Science in nearly every country of the world.

The Christian Science church was founded in 1879 by Mary Baker Eddy "...a church designed to commemorate the word and works of our Master, Christ Jesus; which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing."  Christian Science healing has been practised in the Niagara area since the early 1900s.

You and your friends are always welcome at the Sunday morning services and at the Wednesday evening testimony meetings.

An annual Christian Science Lecture is held for the general public, to  which all are welcome.  Contact the Reading Room for details (905) 684-8033.  Corner of Geneva and Junkin Streets.

"THERE IS NO life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter.  All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation for God is all in all.  Spirit is immortal Truth; matter is mortal error.  Spirit is the real and eternal; matter is the unreal and temporal.  Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness.  Therefore man is not material; he is spiritual." - Mary Baker Eddy
